I was sincerely surprised they put us so high. Their reasoning makes sense though, considering how many upperclassmen we'll have in skill positions and in the secondary. I think MJ winning the VT game outright did a lot for the media's confidence in our team going into next year without Justin Thomas.

5. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Coach Paul Johnson never stays down for long, and the Jackets’ late-season surge reminded fans how dangerous this team can be. Justin Thomas is gone, but plenty of talent returns, particularly on a young O-line and in a burgeoning secondary. The biggest questions will be up front on defense.
I think GT will surprise the "experts" and make it to the ACCCG.

The first sentence in the article reads:

"Let’s start by stating the obvious: We don’t know what 2017 will bring for the ACC."

That's all you need to know.

Yeah most preseason predictions are holding up your finger to see which way the wind blows.

It's like they basically look at who was good last year and try to marry that with recruiting rankings then go from there. That's why we're always under-ranked ('crootin stuff).

Also, I hate I didn't say anything prior to this, but I didn't buy into the Lville hype for '17. I always felt like their early-season sizzle was more the exception than the rule. Now it seems they'll be losing their DC to MissSt.

I have a feeling they'll be down. I expect Pitt to be higher.

I think Loserville will slip to 8-4 in 2017 and will probably wind up in the Belk Bowl or Pinstripe Bowl.
