There's a freshman DE that played at UF...dude was stellar his first year in college. Just recently announced for the portal.

Hope Sunseri + bigger NIL pot can reel him to GT.
I think he was named to the all SEC freshman team…can’t remember his name though

Thoughts?

From HailFloridaHail:

Vinnie Sunseri (Co-Defensive Coordinator / Safeties): D

One of the very real problems with Billy Napier's staff was his reliance on younger or more inexperienced coaches with minimal Power Four experience.

Vinnie Sunseri came to town with just one year of Power Four experience, and Florida's safeties continued to look passive and lost on the field.

People are trying to assign logic to why some of these haven't been announced yet and the delays certainly make me question whether I had good info, but I think Occam's razor is that Key is just slow at pushing contracts to completion and that delays the announcements well past decisions being made. Or me and/or @Eli could just be wrong - that's always the risk you run when you post information that is more than a few hours away from going public.

All true. But, more importantly, are you good with the MLP avatar or nah?

I also heard we are hiring Sunseri from a good source within the GTAA. I initially thought it was Tino Sunseri, Vinnie's brother, as OC, but was quickly corrected and said that they were "expecting" to hire Vinnie Sunseri as Co-DC/position coach (didn't specify what position, presumably DB/Safeties). That sounds like lawyer talk to me and there may be some details to finalize.

Then I asked about the OC search again was basically told that "it's under control". The longer this drags out the more anxious I'm getting...

I think I got it! We are hiring Tom Brady as the OC. We interviewed Chip Kelly to get Tom’s number now we have to wait 10 years until his deal with FOX ends in order to announce the hire. So I expect he should be named OC in 2035

"It's under control" in relation to the OC seems to me like it's done and they can't announce it yet.

Don’t be anxious, I have it on good authority that Key is putting together one of the most powerful coaching staffs in the southeast.

Depends on which teams. You know, “I don’t have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun you.”

We are slowly starting to pick the pockets of programs that are in reach.

Don't know a lot about his coaching career, but I watched a lot of him at Bama, and he was one of those guys you knew for certain would be a coach one day.
Of note, his dad Sal Sunseri is a longtime linebackers coach under Saban and Jimbo, among others. I would give him a call and see if he's interested in an analyst position.
