We all love GT, but why do you think we deserve anything better than 20-22 of 32? What have we done outside of not firing Hall to make the program more attractive than those others above us?

Oh have you noticed that all our competitors have chair backs throughout the stadium, better facilities and more fans that come to the games? Danny deserves some of his criticism but players still choose Tech in part because of Danny Hall. Checkout Alex Hernandez last interview with Monty Taylor. He states you grow up wanting to play for coach Hall if you’re from Georgia.

That’s why it’s my favorite. I fear it’s changing fast

It’s my favorite as well. Idk It’s tough to say. The good thing about college baseball is the kid can go pro straight out of high school so it eliminates a lot of kids choosing a school for money.

Why can't you just be a fan and offer input?
No reason you can’t, just we get a lot of we need people to give or give more comments. I just thought it might be interesting to get some facts behind the comments. I had little to give my first 20 years out, been in a much better place the last 20. I’m sure I’m closer to the mean than the extremes in that respect.

Haven’t we upgraded facilities? We were told a couple of years ago by the father of a recruit that we had a STATE OF THE ART pitching facility?? Don’t we hear that Tex gives hundreds of thousands to the program? That money has gone back into the program. We brought in a top pitching coach from the NY Yankees a few years ago. Even though he didn’t work out, we invested in him and his program. We consistently have a top 10 recruiting class. Our facilities may not be the reason they are coming, but if they were awful, they would t come. I reject the argument (as I understand it) that we aren’t doing anything to make ourselves better, therefore we don’t “deserve” to be better

My cousin is in med device sales and gets to luxury of visiting the majority D1 programs. He’s a Tech grad and told me Tech can’t compete in the facilities he’s seen. Said it’s something we shouldn’t even try to do but to try to remain respectable.

Are we feeling the Hall effect and I'm not talking about the one I studied in electrical engineering either.

My point was we’re beating everyone behind us, losing to everyone ahead of us except VT, ND, Stanford

Well, whether we love CDH or hate CDH, nothing is going to happen before the end of the season and it’s over at the end of the season. We might as well just say thank you, good riddance and hope for the best.

There are plenty of schools that have better facilities than GT. Off the top of my head: Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky And sadly now Georgia. I personally think our facilities are good but they lack the “wow” factor that recruits experience when they visit. Again, I believe our players have what they need to develop. Unfortunately, this is an extremely competitive landscape. Just to end on a positive note, I will say that GT obviously offers a better academic experience for student athletes.

What are your thoughts on our ability to continue bringing in top notch players when/if House goes into effect? So far our facilities and NIL have been good enough to bring in the level of players that we want. Is that about to change?

I'm not sure I agree with other posters who say that NIL hasn't hit college baseball yet. Obviously it hasn't hit to the level of football and basketball, and it never will. But I've heard of several schools for 2 or 3 years now who are paying good money to their top players. It was rumored that LSU paid Tommy White $1M+. We have Drew Burress doing true NIL with his commercial for Associated Credit Union. I truly believe he likes working with James Ramsey, but I'd be very surprised if he isn't getting a rather large paycheck also.

Watching the last game, they had a camera on Burress in the on deck circle for quite awhile and he seemed to have some discomfort, which seems to me he may be dinged up and is trying to play through it. Anyway, he does not look like himself to me on my big screen.
I will be at the game today trying to help pull them out of this tail spin.

Here's a possible silver lining.

At least the slump and 7 game losing streak is in April.

Hoping we can heal up. Get a win today. Get hot in May as we were in March!

Go Get Em Spivey!

Right now just get into the tournament. Anything can happen especially if we are healthy!

On average it states top NIL earners are making 45k a year. You aren’t leaving a Tech degree for 45k a year or you would have just went pro. This is our advantage in baseball.
