The game never really felt like it was in doubt even when they crawled back within one. And even more impressive when you consider we have two of our top hitters and fielders out. Not sure there are a lot of other teams in the ACC that could plug and play as well as we have been able to.

Lodise actually has the highest WAR in college baseball. Not only are we missing two players but one of them is one of the best in college baseball.

I was traveling for work, and didn't really get to watch as much as I wanted, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I tuned in when we were up 6-0. Watching them crawl back to 6-5 definitely felt in doubt to me, especially when they were ringing up runs against our best arm.

Happy to get the win (especially with our incomplete roster) but these guys are scrappy. Don't sleep on the bears.

And what happened when they got to 6-5, we immediately scored two insurance runs to send it to the 9th. Like I said, I watched the entire game and even without two of our top players it always felt like we were the better team. Not that doesn't guarantee a win, but it just never felt in doubt to me watching the game. Had we lost the lead I might have felt differently.

CDH said after the game this evening Lodise is day-to-day and should be back soon. He said Lodise thinks he's ready to play now but the coaching staff wants him healthy for the rest of the season so are being more cautious. He also said Schmidt is now at least walking again but will be out for "a while longer" - believe it is a foot injury (maybe sprained ankle or broken toe?) - sounds like at least a couple more weeks with him...

Pretty sure one of the broadcasts mentioned Schmidt had surgery on one of his big or little toes. Can't remember which. Explains why he's been in a boot and scooter though.

Kent is animated in the bullpen on his scooter. He's talked to my kid multiple times. Great guy.

My son wore a similar cast last summer and wasn't able to play ball for about 6 weeks so I'm hoping we see him back early to mid may. Good thing is it is giving the younger guys some much needed ab's.

Kyle looked fine in pregame warmups so I feel like it's just being cautious.

Hopefully he's back for uga on Tuesday.

Cal is a solid and scrappy team. Still feel we take the series.

Great job by Tate and Patel. Even though Patel gave up 3 runs late to make the lead 6-5, he comes right back and shuts the door. I just really think Patel is special.
Team is 27-7 and 12-4 is just outstanding.

Go get em Brady and take this series. On my way to Spring game and then back to the Rusty C. Fun day on the flats!

Happy for Will Baker on the 3 run hr.

Absolutely sold on this team. Depth. Talent. Versatility. Offense. Pitching.

Geisler hitting is absolutely huge!! When Lodise and Schmidt get back, we have the best offense in college baseball.
