With 8 defenders (or 9+ in the box), wouldn't you want to attack the CB alone on an island? Most of the time the safety/LB is in the box and out-flanked by the A-back, and it seems most defenses are playing the CB about 5-7 yards off. Seems like a simple Curl/Flat, Smash, or Slant/Flat should put that CB in a bind as to who to cover. 2 vs 1 and the CB is always wrong. Sure the LB/Safety could fly out there to make a play...but neither can do that if they have to read run.
