Toughness... I expect to hear it often.

It also isn't verifiable, nor guaranteed to be unbiased. No matter how much you post, there is no evidence available to back up any position on this subject. You are not going to convince anyone that your position is correct. Best to let it lie.

Sims was taken out of a game because he was injured. He was kept out of subsequent games due to injury. He went to rehab after consulting with doctors due to the injury. His parents flat out said he was too injured to play. But yeah, no evidence to back up that he didn't play because on injury.

Whether people are going to change their mind or not doesn't matter. That BS deserves to be called out.

So you're saying our starting QB who was told to stop showing up at all GT team meetings, practices, etc in the middle of the season is just normal protocol? He was of no value whatsoever to Pyron, etc on the sidelines? I hate to say it, but I've never seen an injured player, much less a Team Leader, banished from team activities like this. It's not like he went to Alaska for rehab and it was too inconvenient to travel back to GT. In the end it doesn;t matter because he moved along and so will we, but it is a window into how Key deals with player issues. He must be a real hard *** of epic proporions to kick injured players out of the program altogether.

SIMS - was used to special treatment after throwing flat passes into the feet of the receivers. Somehow a true freshman could run offense and zop accurate passes. Thats got to hurt

A little warm up before practice starts on 8/1...

I wouldn’t expect nothing else from Brent Key. The dude has been around tough coaches since his college day’s playing at Ga Tech. Y’all remember George O’Leary making George Godsey play Oklahoma in practice coming off an injury O’Leary said he wanted to see him get hit to see if he would get up lol. George O’Leary and Ralph Freidgen are the only 2 coaches that has the gonads to do that with your starting Quarterback starting the season 😂. Slick Nick doesn’t hire coaches if he doesn’t see something in ‘em and to watch Ga Tech be a completely different team after Collins was fired tells me we gotta great coach at Ga Tech. This dude was groomed by 3 of the best football coaches that’s ever coached at any level of football. I remember when George O’Leary was hired and how excited I was and I’m feeling even better about Brent Key baby. I was right about George O’Leary and James Franklin and I feel just as confident about Brent Key. James Franklin is another Ralph Freidgen guy. Brent Key just falls in that coaching tree that Bobby Ross built and it’s been a great one.

I know I sound overly optimistic about Brent Key but after the last few years with Collins as head coach it’s been a while since we’ve had something to look forward too. After Collins was let go it just felt different watching Ga Tech football because it felt good because you could see Ga Tech was headed in the right direction.

IMHO he decided after his last injury that he was done at GT and must have told the staff he was transferring. He no longer had his HC or OC sponsors. Probably best for both parties.
I had always assumed that when Zach got injured, Sims was asked if he was able to play, and he felt he was not ready so he declined. Probably had already decided he was leaving after the season. Only he knows for sure how bad he was hurt or what his future plans were.

No need to look back and bicker about someone who left us for another opportunity.

When I think of toughness, and GT football in the same sentence, I think of this cat right here.

Joe, K Mike, Phillip Wheeler, and the rest of that bunch were a lot of fun to watch...not so much for opposing quarterbacks. Back then, Athlon had just started their opposing coaches quoting and one of them said: "The bastards come from everywhere" So, they did.
