Jay Bilas just posted this old Top 40 players of 1982 list on his twitter feed.
Fun to look at as this is just about the time I got into GT basketball. Alot of future great ACC players on that list.
Most of the names did pretty well in college (and a few in the NBA), though some as usual, disappeared.
One great GT related story in there. Wayman Tisdale and Steve Hale were listed in the top 40. They were Co-state PoY in OK that year with Mark Price. Mark was not considered a top recruit then. Too small, too slow. Hale was recruited and went to UNC, Price was not recruited by UNC. After he graduated Dena Smith wrote Price a letter apologizing for not recruiting him, saying it was a mistake on his part.
