You're right, but I was talking about regular football teams. If I had Stroud or Bryce, I'd be tempted to throw on every down too. But up against the usual suspects both Bama and OSU run the ball. Head to head, they'd probably pass a lot, mainly because they'd figure the Ds could handle the run game.

But, yes, due mainly to rule changes, passing is more the fashion these days. These things run in cycles, however.
