We beat NC State, Duke, UNC, VT.
Not even close to being in that rarefied air. Look at the difference between their defensive linemen and ours. Like night and day. We are a long way from being a top 25 team much less playoff caliber. IIWIIWhy would you say that? We matched up well with them last year and did for the first half in 2022, as well. They look to have regressed on offense without Bowers and McConkey. Their receivers aren't that impressive. And Etienne has underwhelmed so far. They're probably going to be a 3-loss team by the time we play them - they'll be losses to three good teams, but I still think they'll have three.
College football is too unpredictable and emotional to say with any accuracy that any P4 or G5 team has no chance, none, zero, against any other P4 team.Your original comment certainly read like you think it basically impossible that Tech could win, and this one does too. Of course ugag is significantly more likely to win, but the talent disparity was arguably even greater last season and we played them to a one score game. These are college students, their play from week to week can vary wildly and the talent disparity is not so great that ugag can come out and play their worst game of the season while Tech plays well and they will still walk away with a victory. I'm seeing about a 4% chance against ugag right now, but your comments certainly come across like you think there is a 0.001% chance.
FIFY.Of course upsets happen, did I say they do not happen? I just gave my opinion that the talent level is so one sided in this game that such an upset will probably not happen, although possible. Want to bet, I am all in? lol
End of story.
I did watch it. I watched Alabama steamroll a team and then go super conservative in the second half until Georgia got back into the game.Did you watch the whole UGA/Alabama game? We do not have the talent to beat either one of those teams in a full game in my opinion. We do not come close to having Alabama's defense which the mutts shredded in the 2nd half even with Etienne having a poor game. And just because they lost to 'Bama and could lose 2 more to Texas and Tennessee does not change that dynamic at all.
Did that with Syracuse. We won't lose an inexplicable game again this season. We'll probably pull 1 or 2 inexplicable wins. I'm seeing a minimum of 5 more wins.I have no idea which games we will win, but I do know this--we will lose to somebody we all thought we would beat (Duke? UNC? NCSt?) and everybody will act like the season is over and we will beat somebody that nobody gave us a chance to beat (ND? UM? UGag?) and everybody will act like we will never lose again.
They are D1 FCS. One FCS win can count towards the 6.Is vmi d1? If not does that win count towards the 6 we need?
