I truly believe the SEC is the strongest football conference, but I've also never believed it mattered.
On top of that, most arguments for why the SEC is best rely on the assumption that the SEC is the best. But that is all dead now.
I'm sure you've seen this already:
P12: 8-3 .727
ACC: 10-7 .588
SEC: 5-6 .455
B12: 4-6 .400
B1G: 6-11 .353
What matters is who wins.
Fact is that the SEC is 5-6 against other P5 teams. You can make the argument all day that the SEC is best, but you can not argue that Miss St, Missouri, Mich St or Wisconsin can be ranked ahead of us. We deserve to be respected. Our team has earned it.
So here are the rankings as they should be, especially considering how the committee has ranked teams in the past:
1 FSU 12-0
2 Oregon 11-1
3 Alabama 11-1
4 TCU 10-1
5 Ohio St 11-1
6 Baylor 10-1
7 Arizona 10-2
8 GT 10-2
9 Miss St 10-2
10 Missouri 10-2
11 KSU 9-2
12 Mich St 10-2
13 Wisconsin 10-2
