This is an ajc artcile from March. Think we are waiting on ground breaking tbh.
The centerpiece of athletic director Todd Stansbury’s fundraising campaign, dubbed Athletics Initiative 2020, is a renovation of the Edge Center, which has housed the main offices for the athletics department since 1982. The project had a $70 million price tag, but nearly $85 million has been raised for the new building, envisioned as a six-story space that will sit on the footprint of the Edge Center at the northeast corner of Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The building is in nearing the end of the design phase. Construction, which can commence once the design is complete, is expected to take between 12 to 18 months. It’s been Stansbury’s belief that the state-of-the-art building, planned to be filled with natural light with a view of the stadium, can be a front porch and a branding element for the athletic department. The Edge Center remains functional but is showing its age.

Thought we had raised 176 million total in the original 125 million program, seems like it was said we had enough to make improvements to the stadium. Don't think it is enough to rebuild the west side which was supposed to be the next phase of the stadium under the original plan when we did the last stadium/field rebuild.

We did.

Wonder how much the current cost of building materials has impacted the cost estimate, with $42 dollar 6x12’s surely somethings changed in the price

For what it’s worth, Lumber prices are down ~40% off of their peak. If it was a long term trend, then it might be an issue, but right now this doesn’t seem to be something that would affect the Edge renovation plans.
