Going to games while you are a student is something you have to make time for and plan in advance. You either buy a season ticket before classes start in the Fall or reserve a single ticket the Monday before the game on Saturday. There's no accounting for casual interest.
That said, I've been working on a grad student friend from India. He watched most of the UVA game with me (coupled with my "colorful metaphors" at certain parts of the game (five turnovers??!)) and is looking forward to buying a season ticket next year.
