All,

Thanks for showing out and being loud in Birmingham! We at least had it 60/40 our way. That Buc’ees off I20 was rocking GT folk and the Panera in Anniston said our fans were coming in all day and night lol.

And everyone was loud last night! We gave the refs all we could to hear it!

That to me is the biggest takeaway. We showed the players our support and supported Brent Key.

Thank you GT nation,

Not sure why we were booing the Birmingham Bowl officials?!?!? They weren’t the referees & not responsible for the weather?
I was a bit embarrassed & bet we don’t get a return invite,,,,

Birmingham Bowl is owned by ESPN. It isn't like the old days where "bowl officials" were trying to encourage tourism and great times at the games. It is a made for TV event. ESPN probably loved that the fans were upset and excited. It probably made for better TV.

He asked if everyone was having a good time and got a honest response. Everyone clapped for the person being recognized though.
True!! They were recognizing a volunteer who had been working the Birmingham Bowl for years. We did rightfully applaud for her.

The ride east on I20 was ridiculous. Hope yall didn't lose your temper.
I already commented on a couple of other threads that there were some people that need better driving instruction, that I say that politely enough, that you do not use your hazard lights while driving down the road! One person had them on during the heavy rain, during the light rain, during mist, and even when it wasn't raining in Georgia!

Weird. I felt like I was the only guy headed west on I-20 it was open road after tuscaloosa.
I can't honestly say eastbound it didn't get wide open until... Well never became super wide open but at least we got back up to the speed limit a good bit off and on around Heflin.

Announced attendance of 33,840. Most for a Birmingham Bowl not featuring Auburn in 10 years! Note that 2021 was when the game moved from Legion Field to Protective Stadium, with a capacity of 47,100. Overall a good showing, especially considering the weather. Bet the game pushes 37 or 38k if it's sunny.

That was a fantastic turnout for GT. Stadium was rocking and people were into the game. I was amazed at the turnout given the weather prior to kickoff. Didn’t like the result because you could see that the team/coach really wanted it bad.
Agreed, once the full crowd was able to get into the stadium it was jammed on the Tech sideline, at least from my seats. Glad we brought the fans.
