3 ACC home games and 0 road games during semester break is par for the course. That is absolutely terrible. BC game might have a student section if folks come back to campus a little early.Duke over Christmas break is pretty brutal, without students it will be a home game for them, unfortunately. For selfish reasons, I wanted the Pitt game to be on a weekend, but oh well. On the bright side, it doesn't seem to be a particularly difficult schedule, especially because there's no Cali trip.
our punishment for beating them last yearOpen with UNC and Duke. Wow
I don't want to throw any shade at J Batt but I wonder if GTAA played any role in scheduling Duke over semester break. I presume they will keep a small free section of student seating for students still in the metro area who would like to attend, but it gives them the opportunity to sell some combination of the courtside seats and Section 113 (biggest capacity section in McCamish) for marked up prices to Duke fans.
That sounds too convenient and probably accurate.I don't want to throw any shade at J Batt but I wonder if GTAA played any role in scheduling Duke over semester break. This happened to us in 2022-23 unfortunately as well. 3 home games during break (although we played @UNC a day after their finals ended and I think @FSU as their students were moving back onto campus so 2 pseudo-break away games). That sounds too convenient and probably accurate.
The fact that we have 3 home ACC games and 0 road ACC games during Christmas break is absolute BS.
Obviously we got hosed, but I think this is pretty unlikely. Someone has to play Duke over Christmas break, whether it was us or someone else. I'm sure if, say, UVA got them over the break, they'd be upset too. Even if the GTAA wanted to influence when that game was scheduled, I highly doubt the ACC would care what they think. It is what it is, we just got the short end of the stick.I don't want to throw any shade at J Batt but I wonder if GTAA played any role in scheduling Duke over semester break.
