English struck out 5 of 6 outs in 2 innings of work in a scrimmage against Starrs Mill. No hits, 1 BB, and 1 ROE. Was clocked at 91-92 by a MLB scout in attendance. Not bad for a 40-something degree evening.

I'll tell you something about this kid. He is from the same high school as Hunter Strickland of the SF Giants. I saw both play in HS. This kid is WAAAY ahead of where Strickland was in HS. The difference maker with Strickland was he is a work-a-holic who would never give up on his dream. English seems to really understand keeping his fastball low and mixing speeds. If he has the same desire Strickland had, the sky is the limit.

Not to be a downer, but looking at his Perfect Game bio, the odds of him actually going to college are low. Too much money in MLB with someone of his talent; college (hopefully GT) will be there for him after MLB.
