He often seemed to back off a yard or two more than what seemed necessary. Maybe he felt it gave him more room to use his exceptional quickness or provided an extra second for the pitch decision however I think being closer can put more pressure on the defense.

An interesting play call in this position on the field.
One thought I had: I think Jordan and JT get about the same amount of yards on this play. There wasn't a whole lot of room, but there was a little bit of space. JT got his yards by maneuverability and Jordan would've probably gotten about the same amount with power.
