I'd love to debate that guy.

Colleges have to fund women's sports that lose money at the same level as men's sports that make money---although at most schools that is only football. So where does the money come from to pay these athletes?
The author has no idea. He is simply spewing chum to attract shallow thinking people to his article.

His alternative to the present system would destroy college athletics as we know them. A few big money schools would be left, and we'd have a professional system, not a collegiate athletic system.

The writer's goal is probably to destroy college athletics, but he can't come out and say that.

His goal is the same as most socialists. Equal outcomes for all (shared resources) not equal opportunity to be successful.

No one makes these kids attend school. They can go straight to the pros as soon as the pros want them. If that’s not soon enough...go sue the pros for access to tryouts.
