That is because they typically recruit those caliber players where you played in college has very little to do with getting into the NFL. the NFL puts far more emphasis on measurables and potentials. GT puts a few players in the nfl because up until recent history we did not get very many who could make it there. Everyone we recruited that had a potential for NFL play ended up being there. A few we developed (adam gotsis, Demaryius Thomas. )to get there. But most of htem were already on that track regardless of where they played.

No college has put 20 guys in the NFL in one year. What else can the kid ask for he has a good QB, we put him in position to get touches even if he was not catching balls. Giving him multiple opportunities to flash and show his skill set. Grass isn’t always greener.

Get a grip. The kid is looking out for himself. That is what he should do. Hope he doesn’t go to Georgia. Look at the facts for a change. They are clear which programs are better for getting to the NFL. If he goes to an SEC school so be it.

One of the early association reasons was “let’s compensate players similarly” with scholarships, for instance. They’ve always been closely linked.

The ACC wouldn’t have taken Miami and VT if they weren’t trying to get good players.

People have given players scholarships for nearly a hundred years. They’ve paid more under the table for almost long time too. They do it because it works. Getting better players improves their results and results in both pride and $$& that they can use to further advantage themselves. It’s plain to see in the history and present both.

the only way to fix college football is to put a limit on the NIL. No player can be paid over $x and under $x .each schools amount Will all be same. Ensure each player if they get injured ( playing in their sport their medical bills will be payed till said injury is cured.)

If Singleton makes it to the NFL, it will be because he's good, not because he transferred to a football factory. A higher percentage of players go to the NFL from football factories because they have a higher concentration of good players. I mean, duh. Any individual outstanding player has the same chance to go to the NFL no matter where he played in college. Do you know what circular reasoning is?

No there aren’t. If you’re good enough the NFL will find you. And if you think for a minute the NFL is pulling receivers from uGA at some clip higher than anywhere else you’re a complete fool who has done zero research.

Everyone talks about the business decisions behind NIL and acts like it’s life changing money.

Let’s do a quick study. Say you got a $700k NIL deal. Congrats. You are now self employed in the highest tax bracket in the country. Between federal, state, and self employment tax you will owe roughly $300k of that in taxes. Plus your agent is going to take 20% pre tax, so that’s another $140k. So you get to take home a whopping $260k of your $700k NIL money.

Now, let’s shop it. Say I get an extra $100k. Man, I should transfer. So now I owe $20k to my agent, and roughly $50k in taxes. So I walk away with an additional $30k.

This doesn’t even include what a financial advisor charges if you don’t understand any of this stuff. So yeah, there are some things you can do. IRAs, 529s, etc.

But the bottom line is that once you hit these high income tax brackets you’d better have a very attractive reason for making a change. If Eric really enjoys playing at Tech he should really think long and hard before making a quick decision for what seems like a no brainer.

His stats were nearly identical at Alabama to his two years at Tech. He would have been taken in roughly the same spot.

I disagree. Gibbs goes where he went had he stayed at Tech. Or transferred to Mercer. Bama really did nothing for him other than he got to play on a decent team in college for a change.

Needs to be a equivalent limit on the amount of NIL money that each school can use and then up to the schools to allocate more of those monies to their better players else this kinda stuff will never stop.
