Saw that most of Bama's wide receiver room is in the portal - Do they have a fast guy to replace Singelton over there?

Bummer, even with some RS freshmen, would of loved to have a stacked WR for competition and depth.

Guess we'll see if he actually transfers or not.

I will present a contrarian view. Not saying we won't miss him but he had a number of drops and occassionally made poor choices when returning kicks. I thought he would bcecome a Kelly Campbell but never quite did. I feel like those slot guys guys are like A-Backs in Paul's system...probably the easiest position to go get guys who can play it and play it effectively. Was there a time 9outside of injuries perhaps) that we didn't have a quality A back or two or three? Note: it is imperative that we replace him either internally or externally or this WILL be a much bigger deal. But look at the loss of Nate McCollum Amherean (sp?) Brown. We thought those were big blows but those guys vanished upon leaving Tech and were replaced quite easily. This not like losing a star DT or LB.

With that being said, I hope he stays and if he leaves I wish him nothing but the best going forward.
Agree he's easily replaceable in our offense but he is a special talent if he can put forth the effort to improve his hands. Very athletic, high points the ball well... has so many tools to be an NFL caliber receiver but has yet to put it together.

Maybe another system can do it but any limitations he had in our offense was his own doing. I don't know what the actually stats are but when there's a 50% or greater chance your WR doesn't come down with the ball when he should when you call his number for a big play, you have to account for that as a playcaller.

I hope he stays or at least avoids the payday of an SEC school where he'll likely end up with a bad QB in an overcrowded WR room. He'd do well with a quality coach and young QB like Arizona State or Iowa State. He's got the talent to thrive here but he's yet to show he isn't replaceable.

I wouldn't worry just based on one portal entry. Every team loses good people to the portal every season.
So that was my point...if it is one or two then business is business... we can speculate but will not know the real answer for weeks

Not saying this is why he entered, but we did WAY more deep shots to him last year than this year.
That shouldn’t have been the case, completely underutilized.
Point of information - we did WAY more deep shots to everyone last year, when our starting QB wasn’t injured. That’s part of playing on a team - you adjust given the circumstances.

Regardless, sad to see him go, but I think we’ll be okay. I do think this reeks of someone making him an offer he can’t refuse. Based on the way some of these things have gone in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him commit to Ole Miss, SCar, or Bama within the next day or so. (No specific reason to think that - just tired of seeing the blatant tampering. Hope I’m wrong on this one, and he’s just testing the market.)

Yeah… I guess so.
I think our issue was that our best option at QB couldn’t get it downfield to him. We tried to get him the ball in other ways, but Rutherford was better in the ways we were trying to attack.
Later this season with Philo in and the healthier version of King, he got opportunities. Maybe a victim of circumstance as much as anything. We would’ve loved to have a healthy QB too, right?

Is this a reaction to paying big bucks to a high school "olineman since we runn the bawwl"?
Has this poisoned the locker room?

The next man up tread mill is niave
No offense this is probably a bad take... Singleton offense #s grew this season a decent amount had 56 catches and 754 yards receiving + 131 yards rushing. Considering the injuries at QB that's still solid #s he's probably not thinking I didn't get enough because they are running ball too much. He's probably thinking might as well test the market on NIL and see if he can get a high 6 figure# off his success or get GT to bump up. We shall see doesn't mean he's gone but I honestly wish all College could get some sorta of committable logic to all NIL deals which would prevent kids from doing something like this year to year.
