He’s going to run in the low 4.3s, therefore his stats are good enough. He’s already a Day 2 pick. This isn’t a decision to raise his NFL stock.

I have been saying this for a while. How many times can you go to the boosters and say you need $500k for a player before the boosters can't give any more? This is especially true if the results on the field aren't commensurate with the NIL's being handed out.

I just don't see how college teams are going to continue to be able to continue to have million dollar QB's year after year. This isn't the NFL, the schools aren't paying the NIL out of the AA budget.

This does bring on a thought though, is there a possibility to make NIL contributions equal to AT contributions or even seat license fees. For example if you give $5,000 to the Tech Way the school will allow you buy Club Level Season Tickets at face value?

Of the list Colorado would be the dumbest of all moves. Sanders is going to the NFL and Deion will have little to no motivation after that. Auburn and K State must be throwing a huge bag of money at him because those two teams are going no where. I could understand Alabama and Penn State as they both are blue blood schools with I am sure plenty of NIL money and good teams that will be in the playoff hunt next season.

How much of that was due to a QB who couldn't throw most of the year? His value is that he is a vertical threat to keep the safeties back. That is of high value for a team that likes to run.

Singleton is not a polished receiver but that is not to say he has no value. The programs on his list are winning programs. They are not winning programs because they don't know how to evaluate winning players.

Never wanted this, and never felt the schools were making money off of the backs athletes. The schools are making money off of their relationships and associations with each other i.e. Michigan vs Ohio State, Texas vs Texas A&M, Georgia vs Georgia Tech, etc. Take the same players in college football, remove them from any and all association with the schools and universities and form them into NFL farm or a semi pro league and very few people would care to watch, much less pay to attend the games and all that money would dry up real fast. Fans care because of the players represent our schools and universities and by some extensions our state, region and/or religion in competition against another.

What happened to the relative value of an old matchup like Harvard/Yale compared to those others you list when they decided not to go after the best players?

What happened to the value of a newer one like Miami/VT that didn’t have much history when they did start getting the best players?

That fans get mad is interesting. GT had 2 transfers starting in the OL. 3 TEs that played were transfers and our QB was a transfer.

On defense 2 DEs and 2 DYs that got significant playing time were transfers. Same for 1 LB. Several DBs were transfers as well.

It works both ways. Lose some gain some.

Singleton was a very good player for GT for 2 years. Happy he was a big piece in our turnaround. Best wishes to home.

I'd like to have him back, too, but the situation is complicated because of the NIL finances.
But yeah, I would guess many if not most posters would test the market. I don't know how many posters would test the market in Athens, though.
