The offensive game against UNC is probably the closest thing we've had so far to what Key and Faulkner is envisioning for GT's ideal offense. High level ground game mixed with highly efficient passing. The scary thing is, our OL play and QB play can improve. Looks like Key and Faulkner's version of the Air Raid is closer to the Lincoln Riley branch then the pure Mike Leach (RIP) and Hal Mumme line.
I love a good passing game, but not gonna lie...that 2nd half against UNC was a masterful display of our running game. Now imagine this offense a year from now when our OLs are a year more experienced, and our QB is more experienced.
I said years ago that if GT could show recruits that we can pass the ball, we'll have a lot of skill guys lined up to play in this offense. Being in Atlanta is attractive, but you have to have a system that will showcase a kid's ability. They all harbor dreams of the NFL. Atlanta + High Level offense + elite education will be GT's key to turning this thing around.
