G SHAQ MASON, GEORGIA TECH
The bowl: Orange Bowl, vs. Mississippi State
The skinny: Mason is known for his run blocking, and he was at his road-grading best in the Yellow Jackets' 49-34 win. Tech ran for 452 yards and six touchdowns against a defense that had been allowing just 126.5 yards per game and had surrendered just 11 rushing TDs.

Think about what that last sentance is saying...Mississippi State's defense had given up a TOTAL of 11 rushing TD's the ENTIRE SEASON until they played us in the Orange Bowl, and WE scored SIX against them that evening. They had been allowing and AVERAGE of only rushing 126.5 yards per game and we put up 452 against them.

We have 2 other players in the "Strongly Considered" category: Synjyn Days for Running Backs & Jamal Golden for Defensive Backs.

I was awestruck at the RZ numbers for Alabama's defense during the Ohio State game, only to find out that Miss. State's were pretty similar.

We brought it all day long against them. It would be interesting to go through their schedule to see how the other teams they played balance out though, if they are predominately pass heavy Offenses it may be skewed.
