The aim of the game is to score more points than the opponent, so scoring efficiency and shooting % are good stats to consider when assessing the state of the program. We were really good in offensive rebounding this year which is probably why our abysmal effective shooting % translated to only a really bad offensive efficiency number.
Off Eff = Offensive Efficiency, which I think is points/possession; Def Eff is what you think
Eff FG% O and D, is Effective shooting% for Offense and Defense, gives extra weight to 3pt shots (since hitting 40% of 10 3pt shots scores 12 pts, it's effectively like scoring 60% of 2pt shots)
The Rk columns reflect our rank (out of 351 teams this year) in each of these stats.
Recruiting Team Rankings
2010, 57; 2011, 45; 2012, 10; 2013, 66; 2014, 51 (I'm aware that we've had a lot of bad, perhaps unlucky, attrition, but still).
The downside of looking at these raw statistics is that they are not opponent adjusted, but still ...
