I usually post on the football thread, but wanted to take a moment to call for safe travels for the GT athletes who left Sunday morning on the five-day FCA mission trip to the Dominican Republic. A group went over back in the fall and the message they gave when they returned prompted more to go this spring. I am certain this will be an eye-opening experience for many of them.

I give these kids my greatest thanks, and they have my greatest admiration.

I am no traveler, and while I do not require my own private jet or require the Hilton when I do travel, I do like things like hot showers and flush toilets. Toilet paper and hot coffee are also kinda required.

For these kids to go to the Dominican and do what they do, for their faith, the families there and for themselves, I am just a little bit in awe of that.

More power to them. I wish I could have been that kind of a person back in the day.
