You're not crazy.

I think we'll see an SEC flame out.

ND had a single terrible game. Other than that they are the best team in college football (along with Oregon).

We got to see ND and UGA and ND appeared to be the better team. I know there were two different QBs playing but there weren't two different defenses playing. ND has tough runners/receivers we had trouble tackling. I think their QB is better too. if those two play, I will likely lay a big bet on ND.

Remarkable isn't it? A mid tier ACC team takes a loaded football factory like UGA to the wire but another SEC powerhouse looks pedestrian in comparison, twice as a matter of fact. I think it has to do with the way Tech runs its offense with King. UGA's defense was on skates most of the game against Tech. I can't say I blame them for being hesitant. If it were me, I would crowd the line of scrimmage against Tech and take my chances in trying to force King into making quick decisions but others more knowledgeable may disagree. Understanding that if you miss him or Jamal you will have a track meet on your hands, as it does not take much of a crease for either of them to be off to the races.
The film guy on youtube does a pretty good job of analyzing. UGA's best defense is nickel with 2 linebackers but they only ran 7 in the box with 3 linebackers against GT the whole game. He was a little at loss as to why but assumed it was because UGA coaching staff believed they had to play 3 linebackers in order to stop GT's running game. It definitely hurt their pass defense since without playing a nickel back - they were pretty much limited to all zone pass coverage given Kirby rule to always play at least 2 deep pass coverage. A good run team can beat the UGA defense. Ewers did not present UGA the same problem given the QBs inability to run the ball.

Once the coaches decided on HK I'm guessing they designed the offense to fit him and the other skill players to go with him.
I think the same thing will happen when the next QB is decided upon. Guessing it will be some sort of spread at the core.

But Army uses a lot of motions and reading the unblocked defenders in their offense. Alabama at the beginning of Nick Sagan's tenure ran inside and outside zone for the majority of their plays, not dives or off tackles. Michigan with Harbaugh ran a combination of counter, zone, and power for their run game. As for Ohio State, under Urban Meyer they have run very similar schemes that Tech has, zone and counter while having option plays off those blocks. When Urban got to Florida, many stated that he was marrying the "power football" of the SEC with the spread offense that was used elsewhere. Counters, traps, iso, option, and power (the run play) have all been in the game for a long time and have been utilized by many traditional power football teams like the old Nebraska and Wisconsin teams. I don't see spreading the formations out as a not being power, but just an evolution of the power run game as shown by Urban Meyer's and Gus Malzahn's offenses.
The Army QB is one heck of a player.

Ugags glaring weakness on defense and it was the same last season (granted many teams have this issue) is mobile and athletic QBs who can make plays designed or not. It's one thing to be "mobile" but it's a different beast to be mobile and athletic where a busted play turns into a big gain like we Haynes make several times vs them last week.

They are not good on the edges. They crash hard more often than not and lose edge contain which is why Buster attacked them that way the last 2 years to much success.

Lining up with a less than mobile Ewers and trying to run up the gut on them aint it. That's their strength & Sark is a moron for doing it not once, but twice now. Just insanely dumb.

We gave teams the blue print, only Bama with Milroe attacked them like we did.

As others have pointed out, Kirby Smart has very definite opinions about defensive philosophy. The blueprint is there if anyone wants to take advantage of it.

Yep. He plays a 3-4 with spill technique on the edges. The ends are by design supposed to crash down and pin the tackle from getting to the LBs and spill the play laterally for the LB to then clean up. They just aren't as good as it the last 2 seasons and only us & Bama have attacked that.

Did any of yall catch the short yardage play where TX brought in Arch Manning and had him under center, then direct snapped the ball to the RB who easily got the 1st dwn? That play would kill with HK’s running threat, not to mention all the variations you could run from it.

I’m questioning my own sanity but am considering backing Notre Dame in the playoffs at 12-1 odds.

I think they’ll handle Indiana and believe they match up well with the dwags for this same reason.

I appreciate all of the encouragement. Apparently a lot of fellow degenerates agree since Notre Dame has shortened from +1200 to +700 in spite of no football occurring.

The Indiana game isn’t a cakewalk but the dwag game implied odds have improved greatly over the past 72 hours.
