Won the ACC tourney with that team. Petway came through big time. Ferrell was hurt and didn't play much if my memory is correct.Thinner Gold Line.
IIRC the Thin Gold Line included our 5 starters (Price, Salley, Dalrymple, Ferrell, Joseph) and Scott Petway as the only guy off the bench for a bunch of games. Of course that was <cough>44 years ago so it's ENTIRELY possible I am mis-remembering it. Wait, what's my name? Where am I? This is not my beautiful house...

Probably waiting to see what is left over in resources. Always good to have a coaches son on the team as a conduit from team to coach. A family tradition for Tech basketball with the coaches Hyder son Tommy, Morrison son Micky, Nidifer son Toby , and baseball Coach Luck son Jim Jr.

Roster so far is coming together fairly nicely.
With Kirouac, Diop, and Jordan we have a young group on the inside, but Kirouac has a year of experience, Jordan has been practicing against college players the last year, and Diop is an older recruit that might let him impact the college game right away more than a typical freshman. Given the recent breakdown that bigs are being "overpayed" in the portal, it makes sense to go the route of young and develop them and spend more money on the guards.
I like the addition of Valdes as someone with experience with Cross, and can help get things set up, and his passing from the non-pg spot can help take pressure off that position as well. However, I do somewhat worry about his combination of below the rim game and seemingly below average shooting. But perhaps part of the shooting was being thrust into a larger role and taking time to adapt.
Love the Kayden Allen get. I think he has the potential to be a big time scorer, and like the size. Would have loved to keep Mustaf but this is a good replacement imo.
Given that Diop recommitted, and Bailey was rumored to also be at the same time Diop was rumored to be, if he returns then I feel good about the young core of guys we have assembled. Now how that will play out in terms of being able to actually keep them remains to be seen.

But we'd need a big time PG (hoping out for Garland), and another big with some experience to really make it work.
