This season Roddy will be on a ESPN/ABC Saturday gameday crew with Anish Shroff and Ahmad Brooks.

cliches?! What could those be?! Didn't you know we are the only offense in the universe that doesn't like to be in 3rd and long? I'm pretty sure 99% of other teams actually just take a knee on 1st and 2nd down because they thrive in those situations.

It's been great to watch him go from GT sideline reporter, to GT radio color analyst, to Raycom sports guy, to now ESPN. You can tell this is what he wants to do and has made the most of his opportunities! Congrats to him, and hopefully he doesn't fall victim to ESPN's poor fiscal management.

Sugiura: Tech’s Roddy Jones explains jump to ESPN

Three years ago, Roddy Jones was about to start his first year as analyst for Georgia Tech’s radio broadcasts alongside then-Tech voice Brandon Gaudin. The former Yellow Jackets captain couldn’t have guessed that, three years later, he would be in the employment of ESPN as its newest sideline reporter.

“No way,” Jones said Wednesday, the day his hire was announced. “Not at all. Honestly, when I took the job to replace Rick (Strom, the previous analyst) with Brandon, I thought I was going to be doing that forever.”
