He hit with his helmet in front of the ball carrier, striking the runner with his right shoulder. This is how you're taught to tackle. The ball carrier lowered his helmet into Carpenter's, not the other way around. No penalty by the rules and by tackle football. The refs got it wrong. PERIOD.

Have to disagree with you. His shoulder made contact before the helmet. Not targeting. Bad call. Yes, it's a high tackle, but no, it's not targeting (in my opinion).

Agreed. I commented on that later on when I saw stills. It's proper technique, just too high. It's still not targeting in my opinion. He didn't lead with the crown of his helmet, he led with his shoulder.

I think there is a rule against that.It's why I don't like to see us in white jersey's even though I like the look. White gloves are hard to spot on white jerseys, but stand out more against other colors. If I was a defensive back I'd try to match my gloves to the opponents jersey color every game. Every little edge counts!
