From SID notes:

Georgia Tech has scored 20+ points in 19 straight ACC games, which is the conference’s longest active streak by a wide margin. The Yellow Jackets’ streak began in 2013, following a 17-10 setback versus Virginia Tech. No other league team owns a current streak that extends beyond this season. Only Ohio State’s streak of scoring 20+ points in 27 straight Big Ten games is longer among Power 5 programs. Tech has scored less than 20 points just 10 times in the 62 conference games (16%) under Paul Johnson -- seven of those came during Johnson’s first three seasons on The Flats.

Current streaks of scoring 20+ points in ACC games

Georgia Tech 19
Clemson 5
North Carolina 4
Virginia Tech 4
Syracuse 4

Longest active streaks in each Power-5 conference
Big Ten – Ohio State 27
ACC – Georgia Tech 19
Big 12 – TCU 18
Pac 12 – Oregon 15
SEC – Florida 5

Cool stat. Not all can be attributed to the offense though. For instance, last week's FSU win only reached 20+ points because of a miracle ST play. And the two pick sixes against Clemson last year. I wonder how this statistic adds up for just offensive points.

Just checked - your posting was pretty sparse in 2014. Consider me shocked.
It's just bait for someone to start a flame war. 3 time ACC Coach of the Year, two Orange Bowl appearances, and 3 ACC Championship appearances. Not to mention pretty great record against ranked opponents, especially at home. The ammo against CPJ is there (bowl record, 7-5 seasons, and our walking injury list this year), but it isn't substantial enough to call CPJ a "mediocre FBS coach." He's trying to get a reaction.

Can we please wait till off season on the coach sucks stuff?

a bunch of business guy's told me all the many schedule problems their project had. They asked me how they should solve them. I said before u can solve these you have to STOP other problems from being added to the list .

The one thing that could really cause trouble that will last for years is if the players loose heart.

After jan 1 will be all interested in organisational ideas to make gt better.

He is about to have his 4th losing season vs FBS in 6 years--barring a second miracle of winning out this season. He has clinched a .500 season at best.

His FBS career win % at GT is 56%. Take away the first 2 years with Gailey's talent and it's closer to 50%. Gailey's career win % at GT was 55%. He was fired.

Insult me all you want, but the facts speak for themselves. He is a mediocre FBS coach. Fans who accept these results accept mediocrity.

Do you have facts, or only insults?

Where did I insult you? I implied that I wasn't surprised that you tend to not post when we do well. Do you think that's inaccurate? If it's accurate, do you think it's insulting?

U kind of insulted him by implying he is not worthy due to his lack of posts is a basis for dismissal. you cant simply say 2014 and expect it to be carte blanch proof of greatness. The last of the season was epic, but early we were marginal except for JeT.

I think coach will figure out some plays we can run against the defenses we are facing( without wainting till last half of a season in the distant future.) I think its close.

Now let's all hope its against vt in 12 days. Since we play vt next I watched gt bob 2014 vt. They were agressive but not like what we are seeing.
Foster verses johnson 2015 = cant wait!

Yes, even this year the D is the problem. Wish we could get around that. Soon.

I don't think it's that easy.

The defense has actually improved a little bit this year (still not very good, mind you), but they're on the field way too much because our offense is pretty bad this year. We can point to stats about points all day long, but they really just don't pass the eye test. A lot of those points have come late in games when the defenses backed up and we didn't really have a whole lot of chance to win the game. When we have the ball right now I have zero confidence that we're going to get a first down, let alone grind out a touchdown. Our offensive line looks non-existent at times. There was a play on Saturday where five defenders were breaking up the play in the backfield before JT could even start to the outside. It was like Moses raised his staff and just let them through into the backfield...

I think it's unfair to say CPJ is a mediocre coach. His accomplishments surpass all but two coaches in the conference and he's got the 8th most wins of any active FBS coach. Now are they doing a good job this year (or even a mediocre one)?...No. This year is a very big disappointment. It's a bit unfair to expect another 11-win season with all of the talent we lost on offense, but 3-6...no one could have convinced me this was coming.

I have confidence that they'll get thing turned around, but I don't think it's going to be this year. We're probably going to win one out of the final three to finish at 4-8...and if that's what we've got, then I really hope it's the last one...

But then again, they play the games for a reason. I really hope I'm wrong...

Only an SID would see that statistic as meaningful now. The only points number that counts, ever, is how often we scored one more than the opposition. Wonder how many of the points were scored in the afternoon vs. night, and on Saturday vs. Thursday night, and ...

Those are the most meaningful points that matters by far, but other stats do matter. All college and pro sports, not just GT looking to have something positive to say, have record books packed with stats like this and has for years.

If the D had more three and outs they'd be in the field for less time. Don't put all of the Ds time on the field issues elsewhere. (Not saying anyone was...)

er, what do you call a LOSING season?--if losing is more losses in record than wins at Tech (which is what this can only be about)--it WOULD be the SECOND in last 6 yrs or any 6 yrs. 2010 was only "losing" record
if it were different we wouldn't be going to bowls--it takes 6 wins to get there
he is not a great coach but not mediocre based on record
