Only one person's opinion obviously but this poll ranks Georgia Tech number 56 (out of 65). It is based on recent performance and not based on history. We are only ranked better than Syracuse and Duke in the ACC. It also list all of the School's College Football Hall of Famers. The only players for Georgia Tech in the last 22 years are Joe Hamilton and Calvin Johnson. As we discuss all of the issues with Georgia Tech, it is really a gut shot to see where we stand in today's list of Power 5 Schools. Here is the link. https://www.stadiumtalk.com/s/power-5-conferences-rankings-c0f6d968d5f44dde . All of the Power 5 conferences have multiple teams in the Top 20 except 1, the ACC which only has Clemson. Our national recognition is really, really low. Though I am obviously a big GT fan, it would be nice if Miami and FSU became national powers again to improve the ACC's perception. Here is the GT comment:

The Paul Johnson era at Georgia Tech probably seems like a dream to fans of the Yellow Jackets. Johnson had seven winning seasons in 11 years in Atlanta before he stepped down before the 2019 season.

Johnson's replacement, Geoff Collins, has carved out a very specific niche in the three seasons since. He's gone 3-9, 3-7 and 3-9. That's the type of consistency you don't want.

That guy's a bad fan with a bad attitude. Doesn't he know recruits and their families read this board. Man all the negativity from these bad fans...

Oh wait - that was just a website ranking college programs ? Never mind...

By the way - we have a much broader course selection.

Just had almost 80 athletes graduate.

The BB and FB team was well represented. One walk on fb player got a civil engineer degree. The rest were about 1/3 business administration, 1/3 some technology and reading , and 1/3 wide ranging
. The portal ol guys picked up some nice add on degrees in real estate or construction.

The spirit girls are killing it in engineering and computers.

That was a great list. That’s the thing to be proud of for those student athletes

Its a bit of a weird list. Im not sure I buy Cal and Northwestern having stronger programs than Texas and FSU.

Hmmm … while I don’t disagree with the article author’s premise when it comes to Tech, it’s hard to take anything he puts forth with any gravity since he still has Cutcliffe coaching at Duke
