It's completely true. In fact it's my wife's brand new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid that will be the new Wreck. It's being painted as we speak. šŸ˜

(PS while I don't know Randy I did write for the Technique when I was a student - and we did just get a new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid)
Yikes. Glad I am 74 and may not live to see all the changes mad to the Georgia School of Technology. Now back to looking forward to a bowl game and playing the baby blue tomorrow tar heels in NC. Lets party like it is 1970-71 again. Beat UNC and win the Sun Bowl.

As a side-note to this, I've always wanted to find a plymouth prowler and re-make it as a 'new' Wreck. Reckon it'll never happen though...

I want my farm truck Ford F-350 dually to be the next Wreck if the current Wreck is retired..

Actually, that would be pretty interesting and could be kinda bada**.
As long as we all recognize it as an homage and not a replacement, itā€™s all good.

I am stunned if this is true. That is one of the most iconic symbols in college football and gives us one of the impressive and beautiful intros before the game. I hope there is a major protest to stop this. Why can't we keep any historic symbols from the past. That vehicle screams engineering because it take the smart engineering student to keep it running after all of these year.

Ah, no good. They don't make cars like they used to. No rumble seat!
Very true. My wife, daughter (current GT student), and I recently got a ride in the Wreck around campus. It was AWESOME!!! I got to ride inside and my wife and daughter rode in the rumble seat. It was a perfect morning for it.

If this happens I will advocate to close all coffee shops on campus because brick and mortar stores that sell goods derived from agricultral products shipped from overseas does not align with sustainability either......

Hyundai has naming rights to the field, nothing else.
Correct, but in my completely made up scenario I feel like when one car company spends that much money on something, they wouldnā€™t be thrilled to have another car company getting the shine. Then again, Iā€™m not going to pretend to know much about naming rights vs. contracts

too bad for them. We could always take the name off the field if they wanted. Of course, we'd keep the money.

Check back on page 1 if you havenā€™t, this is about as true as JBat getting poached by USCe
I trust the GT administration to not mess with the Ramblin' Wreck, or the student body will revolt. I did hear from a GTAA staff member that AD Batt did talk to USC when called, but no specifics were mentioned, and it was kept quiet except with the president. Probably scoping out the landscape to measure his value as an AD to an outside program. Cannot blame him for that. Glad he was treated right by GT to appreciate his value.
