CGC talks about players being Above the Line , is this information he has or will put out or is it only for the coaches and players. Sure would be nice to know and how many players at this time are in that group.

This is a cool way to let the players know exactly where they stand and can make their decisions. All players above the line will see playing time during the season, as I understand it. I don't know if they put it down on paper, but the players all know. For example, 3 stripes on your helmet is a really good thing.

Who be nice if we knew and I can see why he don't want it out. But also would be nice to know the number above the line

You just have to be patient. We usually didn’t get an official post-spring depth chart previously, so we really shouldn’t expect an “ATL” list yet either. We’ll find out when we’re getting closer to Clemson. The players, on the other hand, likely have been told where they stand.

Exactly how does it work? Does "above the line" translate to "in the two-deep"?

I think CGC is going to use more players than we are used to seeing. He even says there will ATL walk-ons who will see snaps here and there, not necessarily in the two deep. My understanding is ATL means eligible to see game action, period, so be ready.

I am sure we will quickly figure out who the 1's and 2's are, but it just won't be written down.

I like it. Keeps everyone fresh, and everyone's head in the game.

Does anyone remember what you have to do to get above the line?

Bust a gut? I guess the better you do, the more chance you have of staying above the line.

Maybe it's like me and my wife. I most often know whether I'm above the line, though sometimes I get a surprise (usually to the downside).

I would assume above the line is going to be who dresses for away games. Anyone who has a chance to play snaps each game.

I think fall practice is going to be very interesting with griffin and Yates coming in. I think both will push to play, will obviously griffin being a pretty sure fire contributer his first year.

Just think of it as nfl game day roster of who is eligible to play. They highlight who started the week before. Here is one.
