Question for you legal minded folks

GT is a public, tax payer supported institution.

Are we not under some legal obligation to advertise open positions, and give a base line number of interviews?

And to include minority candidates? (And forgive me if the incorrect wording) I am 100% comfortable with that if so.

Am I off course here, or could someone perhaps explain if there is some requirement such as this.

In the past, they have posted position specific job openings. I'm surprised that one does not say head football coach, or something to that effect. Perhaps the rules (or interpretations have changed) so this generic posting meets the requirements to advertise the position.
