Now if Pyron loses to Miami, play Sims or even Gibson for UNC, then Pyron for UGA.

If Pyron beats Miami and then beats UNC, you gotta reward him with the UGA game AND the bowl game. Benching Pyron for UGA and the bowl game just to save a RS, Key would lose all credibility in the locker room, probably piss off Pyron too. Are we trying to win, or are we putting one guy's redshirt above team goals?

BTW, Pyron could redshirt another year in the future, you never know how things happen in CFB.
You have a point. I thought it might have been best to wait until after FSU to bring Pyron on the field. Then we wouldn't have this semi-awkward situation. But I can also see not worrying too overmuch about the red shirt. At this point, that's probably best for the reasons you mention.

RS is very important to both us and Pyron (or should be). He can play an extra year if he keeps it. Nice option for him to have; where ever he plays.

But ........ if Pyron plays and we beat Miami and UNC, then he would lose it in the bowl game. I hadn't thought of that since I don't see us beating UNC with their offense. That is likely to be a high scoring game. But would be a GREAT problem to have.
Good point. If Tech wins the next two, red shirt considerations are off the table.

It’s too late now. We’ve seen what the kid can do. Key has himself in a very unenviable position, unless Sims is still hurt then it’s a not an issue.

a. If Sims is ok, comes back in and plays lights out- Pyron pushed him to do better. Key is a genius, master leader.

b. If Sims is ok, comes in and lays an egg, people are going to want to run Key out of town. He’ll be a massive idiot.

c. If he plays Sims and Sims does not look 100%, run for the exit unless Sims does well or he pulls him quickly then Key gets a partial pass.

d. If Sims is ok and sits and Pyron plays great, Key wins. Another potential genius move.

e. If Pyron plays poorly, he’s gonna get second guessed to death. He should have played Sims, it will be clear there were 2 lucky games and now what he saw in practice is what we saw on the field. Key is an idiot.

f. If Sims is not ok and Pyron plays poorly, there will be screaming for Phumanchu.

g. In no case would the other option be received well unless there was some sort of miracle performance. Highly unlikely. Key slaughters himself with such a move.

A and D work, the other scenarios Key will be a monKey.

That's an astute analysis.
OTOH if Tech wins, no matter what happens with our QBs he'll get a pass. All he has to do is just make sure it gets in the W category.
