Wide receiver Jalen Camp, the Jaguars’ seven-round draft pick from Georgia Tech, was impressive in Saturday’s session in full pads and during Sunday’s scrimmage, showing a knack for winning 50-50 balls.
Camp, 6-feet 2 and 230 pounds, wrested the ball away from linebacker Damien Wilson during a 7-on-7 period before the scrimmage actually began, then caught a 16-yard pass from C.J. Beathard in which he held onto the ball under tight coverage by Tre Herndon.
Camp started the scrimmage with the first offense and caught two passes for 22 yards.
On Saturday, Camp came away with two passes in which the defender could easily have ripped the ball away.
“Jalen is great,” quarterback Trevor Lawrence said. “We’re down a few guys with bumps and bruises and he’s been a guy who keeps going. He’s getting all the reps and he’s earning the offense and taking advantage of this opportunity.”

Jalen definitely gonna find success just from pure work effort. Always was a extremely hard worker.

One of the first to congratulate Tyler Davis? Jalen Camp:

Watched the game. Gotsis was the only one of our guys to be out with the first unit (finished with two tackles and almost had a sack). Camp had a nice catch, and the announcers discussed how he is a project from a mostly run offense (did mention that Collins had helped him for a year). Camp almost allowed a blocked punt when he was in as punt protector. Davis had a nice block or two in addition to the TD. Cottrell had three catches out the backfield, and looked nice. They also had him lined up for kickoff return to start the 2nd half, but the kick went out of the end zone, so we didn't get to see him.
