Georgia Tech is represented well at the Senior Bowl.
TE - Jackson Hawkes
DE - Jared Ivey
DE - Kyle Kennard
LB - Demetrius Knight
Ah, Demetrius Knight. Talk about a missed opportunity to develop a great player. I never understood why he didn't start every game after his sophomore year. Oh, yeah … I forgot who was coaching.

No matter what a Jacket will get a ring tonight.

Harrison Butker - Kansas City
E.J. Jenkins - Philadelphia Eagles

This post is a great snapshot of modern day college FB. I didn't recall an E.J. Jenkins playing for us. Had to look him up. turns out he was here for his last year of eligibilty in '21. Came from SoCar. hard to imagine not remembering a Yellow Jacket in the league in the "old days" (pre-transfer portal).

Honestly, neither did I. Memory holed the entire season as soon as we lost to NIU week 1.

Said when he was with us he should have moved to TE. Guess what he's playing/developing into for the Eagles?

It will be interesting to see what Leo Blackburn does at GA State. Always thought he could be a really good receiving TE for us. Interesting tidbit, Blackburn was rated the #14 TE in the country coming out of HS in the same class as Brock Bowers (#3 TE). It's a shame he could never shake the injury bug here.

He made plays for us when he was in the game. His playing speed also jumped off the screen. Weird he was HIGHLY productive everywhere he went outside of GT...but you alluded to why...

Kelly said he needed to go down ( cgarolette - in a d that used big mlb) to get playing time. It worked.

Quinlan? Whatever...

Knight just needed better development. He's always had the size, speed, and explosiveness to be a good LB. He's shown flashes in games. Knight required coaches who knew how to use his physical tools and instincts and turn him into the LB that South Carolina got. That's on our coaches, not Knight.

I've seen some mock drafts that have Knight as a second round draft pick. It is a travesty that our defensive staff at the time couldn't figure out how to utilize someone with enough athleticism to be 2nd round draft pick.

Andy Mac stayed and signed up the last cpj recruiting class and it included DK3. TFP did not keep Andy (long time Ace Recriter, Defense Coach, MTSU head coach).
DK3 would have been a qb or good Bback in cjp offense but was 6'2 240 and not suited for the mobile lb( quez jackson , curry, stc) based defense that TFP thought he could wish into exsistance. In TFP mind limits of real world facts never interfered with his plans.
DK3 and Andy are lucky they left when tgey did...

It's very possible that Kennard, Ivey and Knight all are gone by the end of the 2nd round. Imagine our defense if those guys were on the field for us this year...
Hire B to interviewer - the A guy did X and didnt do Y.

Under cpj dl guys that were good - Gamble , Gotits (sic) played many reps = got way way better as they played. Others got few reps and called coach who said......

TFP says we will measure to see when players not at peak due to getting tired and everyone will get better . Sounds good BUT

TSTAN HAD NO FOLLOWUP. Imo Ivey and Kennard did not get to play the number of reps and THE BACKUPS WERE NOT READY.
IVEY KK they wanted more PT so they started discussing transfer.
Ole miss and South Carolina promised that and money.
