It's getting real!
KenPom put out his initial 2024 rankings last week and GT came in at #118. Last year we finished at #161.
This alone is probably not worth an announcement. With that said, my reason for starting this thread is related by way of this this gem of an interview with Ken Pomeroy himself on the Inside Syracuse Basketball podcast yesterday. If you are a college hoops junkie like myself, I think you'll find Pomeroy's first hand perspective around the algorithm and its place in folklore fascinating. Even better, the questions that Waters (the host) asks specific to Syracuse are translatable to our situation at Georgia Tech e.g., how does the model factor in a new coach? New offensive/defensive styles and tempo? Impact of transfers? Etc.
