Hey folks. All joking aside I just read that Kirby’s father passed away at 12:15am today due to complications from surgery he had to fix a broken hip he got while out walking in New Orleans before the Sugar Bowl. Sending prayers to the family.

Broken hip is one of the biggest risks for increased mortality in the elderly. Lots of complications possible and the limited mobility has lots of downstream effects. Very sad how rapidly someone can go from healthy and lively to debilitated from a fall

Kirby Smart's Dad died on Saturday after an accidental fall in New Orleans ahead of their game. Per the AP, the cause of death was related to complications following a hip surgery to repair damage from the fall.
