Great! Maybe someone can ask what the heck is going on with Francis K and if he has indeed turned a corner.

Really to turn a corner a kid has to do it in games during the season.

IMO, it's better than not to hear positive stuff from practices about guys, and it may or may not translate into actual in-game performance.

Would be nice if Kallon can keep on improving though!

Agree, but if he's doing things in practice he's never done before in practice, it bodes well for game time.

Maybe it happened, but I don't remember any instance of a coach saying Kallon had done anything good in practice. It's always noncommittal or even negative. Much like Adam, I find his path to Tech interesting and I have been hoping from the start that he would succeed. There has to be something going on with him which is different -- and better-- this year.

CPJ himself said that FK really practiced well last week and it caught his eye..watch the spring report videos on GT's YouTube page

Highlights of the Day: B-back CJ Leggett broke through the line several times for long runs during 11-on-11.:D Wide receiver Antonio Messick went up the ladder for nice catch along the right sideline. Safety Jamal Golden picked off a pass over the middle in the final session of the day.

Quote of the Day: "In the spring, one day one side's going to win, the next day it's the other side. It's a give-and-take. Nobody's going to dominate. We're not that good on either side." -- Paul Johnson

Good to see that Leggett had a good day. And Coach is back to normal self(y)

Define succeeding. Right now he's attending one of the leading institutes of higher learning on someone else's dime, and he gets to run out onto Grant Field behind the Reck each fall. Sounds like the young man is living the dream to me.

Ken wrote a story on Kallon (behind their pay wall)

Georgia Tech defensive line coach Mike Pelton has had a most welcome post-practice guest lately — defensive tackle Francis Kallon.

“He wants to meet after every practice,” Pelton said Wednesday, following the Yellow Jackets’ sixth spring-practice session. “He wants to watch film. It’s like the light has gone off, and he’s got a burning desire to just get it.”

Wow, great to hear! If he can become an impact player, we can even move Gotsis out to SDE (assuming Jabari makes it) for passing downs, maybe even full time. It'll be interesting to see how he progresses through the spring game and then into fall camp. Don't lighten up, Francis!

I hope he meant the light has gone on.

He's clearly working his tail off. That's all anyone can ask.

Plus he's a good student/class act off the field. Super easy kid to root for!

With his size/athleticism it's a great sign that he's understanding how much work it takes to be a great player at this level--and that has a burning desire to do that work.

Whatever happens he won't have any regrets looking back on his career about not giving it his all. If he can just be in the rotation without much of a drop off next year that would be HUGE. If he can do more than that then damn, that's great!
