I really like singleton, but I thought he shoulda coulda made both plays in bounds. The touchdown would have taken some doing, but it was possible with a little better positional awareness and body control.

I was also frankly shocked that the dwag db ran right with him on the long run from scrimmage that almost went for a td. I didn’t think anyone on the field would be able to match his 10.2 100m speed. Maybe the db had an angle on him. I need to rewatch to see.

It would’ve been an incredible catch. Hard to fault someone for not making an incredible play… that’s why they are incredible.
I agree that the ball didn’t need to go outside but it was also a pretty damn good throw…. Just missed outside
King just missed a couple long balls…. This one and also one to Haynes down the sideline. Haynes made a good adjustment and nearly caught it but if it was thrown a yard further, he was gone.

In summary, it’s nice to be able to talk about near misses that actually could’ve impacted the outcome. These plays don’t matter in a three score game.

Our poor kickoffs are a mystery to me. Most of the year they have been in the end zone. Is Stewart hurt or ??

There was contact and a slight push that caused singleton to change his line, but he didn’t actually step out of bounds until a few strides later, so I guess that’s why the ref didn’t consider him forced out of bounds.

We had a family health issue yesterday, so I DVR'd the game and watched it very late last night.

Thoughts:

The gap scheme we are using seems unique to me, but I am not a football expert.

If we had a couple of breaks on passes we might have actually won the game. Singleton stepping on the sideline was a heartbreaker. I thought the incomplete thrown to Haynes should have been PI. But, we had a couple of breaks go our way as well. So, maybe it evens out. The INT in the endzone comes to mind immediately. I wish we had gone for on 4th & 1 early.

Think back to the end of season before last and the 0-100 drubbing we endured. The whole atmosphere around the program has changed for the better.

If we can fill a couple of spots on the D line and keep improving at LB we might actually be a good team next year.

Key seems to have a great relationship with these guys.

I think the thought there is we've mainly used Pyron on runs. UGA probably scouted that, and it looks like Pyron was looking to pass the ball to trick UGA's defense on tendencies. However, the pass opportunity wasn't there (or at least from Pyron's POV) so he pulled it down and took what the defense gave him.

I echo what most everyone has said in here about the game itself. Excited about the trajectory of our team and building on this year, but ultimately all we have to show for yesterday is moral victories and that sucks.

I’ll add that yesterday was my first COFH game in the stands since graduating, and it felt like a rivalry game, contrary to the uga fans who will say they don’t view us as a rival anymore. There was a hum in the stadium, fans were chirping at each other all night (from what I saw mostly in good fun, though one mutt did get escorted out of my section for taking things too far), and players were getting chippy on the field. A far cry from our ACC games vs the Pitt, BC, and Wakes of the world which can feel more like wine and cheese fests. Hopefully we can get competitive with Clemson again so there’s another game on our schedule with that kind of energy. Not enough unfiltered hate on our schedule year in and year out that brings out the passion like this game does.

My thoughts on the game last night, in no particular order:

1. I told @awbuzz I'd love to see it close at half and go into the 4th competitive. We did that. NO moral victories but at least we looked like we belonged on that field.
2. We played extremely well on the OL last night and were able to run the ball against uga. Getting to the second level was tough but we had 4-5 yards available almost every time we ran it.
3. Defense stepped up just enough against a very talented O to keep it close.
4. Depth is going to be critical for us. We need to not only build quality 2 deeps but also get the third and fourth string built up as well.
5. You can't convince me the best QB on the field last night played for uga. King is a leader and IMO every bit as talented.
6. We are moving in the right direction. In the preseason I said I thought the offense would improve this year and the defense would regress due to losses there. I don not expect the Offense to take off and the defense to tank, but with another year of coaching I think our defense will only get better.
7. uga fans are just terrible. At one point late in the game after the last uga TD, one of our players was down for almost three minutes. The mutts in the upper east and upper north began loud uga! and bulldog! chants while our player was down. Classless.
8. Whatever Cabrera and Batt thought they were doing to protect our house didn't work. uga fans were at least 70% of attendance last night.

Clemson is no longer a permanent opponent. Georgia is the only team we play annually for the foreseeable future. I’m not sure how we’re going to develop or re-kindle rivalries when we aren’t playing games against our supposed rivals.

The only reason the score was close was because…

• Georgia was resting its best players in anticipation of needing them for championship games.
• Georgia was obviously prepping for championship games last week and not us.
• The refs were blatantly biased against Georgia.
• Kirby likes Key and didn’t want to run up the score.
• Our last TD was in garbage time so it shouldn’t count.

Did I miss any?

Seriously, we played as well or better than any team uga has faced this year. Gives me hope that the program is headed in the right direction. Playing competitive football will help our attendance issues.

The rivalry will wane now that they're not a permanent opponent. The last remaining solid rival we have is Ugag.
Takes time to build rivalries, especially if you don't play them every year.

Yes! Penn St is 10-2 headed for a NY6 bowl and from what I’ve seen this year Ga Tech is better on the OL, WR and QB position but of course Penn St is better at every position on defense. I believe BK will get the defense fixed through the transfer portal because after a good year with Ga Tech making some noise these good football players that want to play now will want to be part of something good going on in Atlanta. It’s been a fun year watching the team fight like hell for every win and they were never intimidated playing on the road and that’s credit to the head coach. Let’s go get a bowl win and finish this with a winning season baby! Let’s go Ga Tech!

Penn State needs an new OC. Since Moorhead left to be the HC at Mississippi State their OCs have sucked. They have a lot of talent on offense but very poor plans on how to use the talend and their execution is well below their talent level.

Their defense is for real though!

Ha Ha. That's a great list roadkill. However the whiners will always find something not on your list. I don't know why they even visit the board. To make us as misserable as they are?

The amount of whining and excuses I'm seeing today is laughable. Bunch of sore winners not realizing how good they have had it. One guy said to me, that this was our Superbowl and no UGA fans take this match as serious as we do. Or that they don't base their entire season on this game

I was expecting this game to look like Clemson 2. Was so pleased to see our offense look do good. Two plays haunt me. The first is I think we should have gone for the 4th and 1 in the ref zone. We needed every point considering we could not stop them. The second was the holding call against us in the red zone. We had made a nice run for a first down and the hold did not effect the play. If we made TDs both times...

I don't think he held - I'm going to watch again but on replay I didn't see a hold.
