Still trying to cope with the uga loss and after they beat Texas last night it’s even harder.

What are some positive thoughts you all are using to get past the loss?

This is mine. First the first time since the GOL days, we have shown the last two games that we can go toe to toe with them. No longer do ween to hope for miracles, multiple turnovers, etc. We don't look out manned physically. Or intimidated. So the last game was not our only shot. It's going to be a war annually again. Our younger fans here have never seen. It's glorious.

The fates have a way of evening out. UGA went thru it for years (remember the 1980 chants and 2nd and 26). Now the fates have shined on them lately. Yes, we have been dealing with a rough decade and some tough heart crushing losses, but we are pushing and pushing. NIL and the portal have given us two tools we never had. We are bringing in class fulls of 4 stars when a 4 star use to be a rare specimen on our campus. We have a connected coach who can replace losses on our staff and an AD and President who understand that the first 100 news google searches for “Georgia Tech” are all sports related.

With the talent in this state and a viable GT football program and with Auburn and FSU floundering (2 of the top Georgia poaching schools) GT has a chance to become a top 20 fixture. This is an opportunity for us that we haven’t seen since O’Leary to become a media darling in the south. The work will pay off.

50, I was where you are for several days after the game. Now I'm feeling very good about our situation. Start with the many good points already made. If the Dogs are a good measuring stick, remember we beat them in every statistical category, especially rushing. That usually means our O line beat their D line.

We had the best recruiting year since 2007. A lot of people saw our games against FSU, Miami, and UGA. Recruiting should get better still.

King, Philo, and Haynes are coming back plus a lot of other talent.

Next year's schedule is easier by far than other recent schedules.

If we play to our ability, have better placekicking, and limit mistakes, we could be in playoffs next year.

We still have a bowl game to be played. No other game can ease the pain of losing to Georgia, but ending on a winning note will help.

2008 2009 we didn't go toe to toe with them? 2013-2016 we didn't go toe to toe with them? Hell, 2004-2006 of Chan's tenure were close games, we just lost all of them.

It was a hollow “victory” for uga. Their fans are exposed, now to an even greater degree, as members of a reality denying cult. Their luck is running out. The corruption in their program is evidenced by the number of player legal difficulties, tickets, accidents, tragedies and near tragedies.

Vince Dooley famously recruited against Tech by taking a calculus book with him when he visited recruits. It worked for decades upon decades. Now we have a great coach with a heart of gold who will say to the mothers of recruits, “Ma’m, we’ll keep your boy safe.”

Now, I’m not going to lie, if uga wins another championship it will be a bitter pill after all the times this season they have been bailed out.

One big question that has arisen with announced transfers is losing 3 OL teams...1 out of eligibility and 2 transfers
True. However, to be a perenniel top 20 team we gotta be able to fill the gaps with depth. Winning football comes from the offensive line and a solid QB. This is the where Key earns his money - building the lines. Getting a 4 star CB is nice but won’t keep us from losing games. Having depth on the OLine IS THE REASON we will win or lose. Your point is the million dollar question for our program. We’ll see.

And this is the beauty of NIL. You forgot after Dooley slammed the calculus book on the kitchen table, he told the kid to open it up and there was an envelope of Benjamins.

Now, GT can offer Benjamins and an education so all the BS lies about GT are gone in one fell swoop. UGA advantage vis a vis recruiting is gone other than the consistent winning argument. As we win more that argument will slowly fade away too.

No doubt we have given them some battles over the years despite being big underdogs. hats off to the coaches and players! Wasn't trying to disparage anybody fwiw. OTOH, we have a winning rate of about 14% against them in the years since GOL left if my math is correct. The point remains (imo) we went into those games with really nothing but hope as fans. I would bet the CFB world as a whole gave us very little chance most of those years (although I do recall actually being a favorite one year when we played them at BDS. Which of course we lost bc we played them at BDS. But I digress). My point to the OP is that I believe there has been a fundamental shift in GT FB. Going forward I expect this to be of a matchup of peers than a fight between big brother vs. little brother. I sure hope that I am not wrong on this. Time will tell.
