Smells like c62 and kg feel the exact same way about the upcoming GT season.

I know, it scares me too.

Moses will be the starting 4, I think that is clear (at least in my mind), but he will see some minutes at the 5 as well. How much so will depend on how consistent Big James is this year, and whether we decide to play small.

I suspect Cole will be a lot like Moses and split his time between the 4 /5 spots. Back court and wings will be loaded with options. Jose and Mike will log heavy minutes, but that rotation will be interesting.

To me, the biggest log jam will be on the wing. This is especially true if Shembarri plays anywhere close to the level he did in Spain. Shembari, Khalid, and Sjolund will be fighting for minutes there all year.

Once Ush is eligible, I think that he becomes the starter there, but if we want to go small, he can slide to the 4 allowing us to get another shooter on the floor.

There's a lot to be excited about if you are a GT hoops fan. Should be a fun season.

Competition for minutes with the caliber of players we now have will hopefully make every one better.

I fully expect Jose, Mike and James to avg between 90-100 mpg combined. How is the other 100 min divied out. That could change alot during the season.
When Usher becomes available he is going to play alot of min imo. He was the leading assist man in Spain due to his ability to attack the basket off the dribble. I see him playing at both the 3 and 4.

Price's playing time may depend alot upon Phillips. If Phillips plays like he did in Spain then you can make a stronger argument to RS Price. But after game 1 Price looked pretty comfortable shooting the ball. Usher not being eligible at the beginning of the season sort of complicates things as it means we might play some guys early that if Usher was eligible would be potential redshirts.

Almost everyone on that trip had their moments but who can play at a high level consistently and against ACC level competition. That will be the key. I do think we will try to play faster. We have depth at guard and just more players to throw on the court overall.
I believe Pastner would like to play Jose, Mike, and James fewer minutes this season. We need to be fresher in the last 5 minutes of games to finish better, so giving them more rest early would help. That said, he has shown he will play guys that match up with our opponents, or create matchup problems for them. How minutes are allocated could change game to game. We will soon see how this plays out, but Parham's waiver makes our lineup much better. I know UK thought they had seen the last of him.

Hopefully everyone is ready because that only means one thing...it’s going to be one hellva ride. KG - you gotta come out to a game with us this year.

Stars are aligned!!

Yes. We need to start talking about this. Good times last season. Sitting next to Red and watching a game with him was awesome. Getting to meet @dtm1997 and @connell62 was long overdue. Gotta catch up with @CuseJacket, @kg01 and some others this season.

I'll have to find a way to come out. The kg's sports/other schedules usually don't make it easy. Plus I'm pretty sure dt might murder me if we ever met in real life. :nailbiting:

Haha, all you ice cream snobs can now direct your efforts at peac.

ETA: I guess I should go back to eating Mayfield again? I'm so confused. Like an addict on the verge of relapse.

Don't try to revise history, KG. The internet's receipts are forever.

kg02 is 12 (girl), kg03 is 11 (boy). The plan is to bring 03 to a couple games, depending on how the schedule(s) unfold. Both are in soccer, probably basketball too so, with my travel schedule, never a dull moment.

Sounds like fun.. I know how that goes. My kids are still young 6 and 4, but the schedules are already tough to align!

Well, when we decide to make it happen, let's put our heads together.

We probably can find enough room for everyone.

I'm down. Should be a lot easier for me to make several this season. Had sole responsibility for a 1 year old on Saturdays last winter, and I was often on the road weekdays.
