Opposing Defensive Schemes

So I got to thinking...the defenses the last two weeks have made us look completely silly trying to execute our offense. Both did one thing very similar that we haven't seen a ton of from opposing defenses, IMO by having a very athletic player shoot a gap different from where he was originally lined up.

The last time I recall seeing this executed as well as the past two games was 2013 against VT at home.

Yesterday it was Cash. In that VT game it was Fuller...I don't recall the name of the stud for ND they had doing it.

When this happens to us it seems like we don't adjust our blocking schemes very well and people just go completely unblocked.

Has anyone else noticed this?

When they started talking about Duke's gameplan, my first thought was VT as well. Not a bad plan to emulate if you have a SS that you trust to execute it.

The worrying thing is that Duke's other players are not at VT's level.

We have seen it before. Guys need to pick up the blitzing player but he seemed invisible to our guys at times. Frustrating to say the least.
