This is kind of like when Lance Bass came out as gay and everyone in the world thought, "How is this news? You mean it wasn't already public"?

Ole Miss to investigate Tunsil's comments on receiving cash

http://www.sunherald.com/sports/article74628857.html

The university said in a statement Friday it is "aware of the reports from the NFL Draft regarding Laremy Tunsil and potential NCAA violations during his time at Ole Miss" and "will aggressively investigate and fully cooperate with the NCAA and the SEC."
Ole Miss is currently under NCAA investigation and received a Notice of Allegations from the governing body in January regarding violations in football, women's basketball and track and field.
The university has not disclosed what the violations the NCAA said it has committed, but Tunsil was suspended seven games last season after the NCAA ruled he received several illegal benefits, including the use of three loaner cars.

As suggested yesterday by some in the media, today is the perfect time for Ole Miss to release findings after Baylor's news and heading into Memorial Day weekend.

ESPN: Ole Miss self-imposes postseason ban for women's basketball; reduced scholarships in football
Among the other penalties self-imposed by Ole Miss, according to the report: "The termination of four coaches, including the only two involved head coaches still employed when the violations were discovered; the disassociation of every involved booster; a post‐season ban in women's basketball; a double‐digit reduction of scholarships in the football program; a significant reduction in off‐campus evaluation days and official and unofficial visits in football and track and field; violation‐specific rules education across all involved sports; and a $159,325.00 financial penalty."

Whoever that coach was is an idiot. If you're paying players, why the heck are you leaving evidence in a text message. I would have replied "Laremy, you know it's against NCAA rules to give players money." Then called him and chewed his *** out about only communicating in person...then given him the $305...

Gotta love it. SEC football Team gets caught in a major league cheating scandal & gets a couple boosters kicked out of the President's box, the last in league 2-14 in conf WBB team gets "prevented" from going to the WNCAAT, they can't visit recruits during a period when it doesn't really matter, & the track & field team gets hammered. Oh my I can't believe the badminton and women's curling teams didn't get the death sentence due to guilt by association. That would have been real punishment!

In a footnote, it says that if further allegations are uncovered at Old Piss, Georgia Tech may be subjected to an extension of their probation for some allegation 10 years ago nobody's even sure really happened. Quote from the head-MF NCAA investigator "somebody has to pay for this crap and we need to send a clear message to all the important ADs that you can't have your coaches emailing evidence to idiot football players. However, we sure as hell aren't going to punish a money making SEC football factory." Surely it won't take them long to find some coach that inadvertently butt dialed some kid somewhere in the past 12 months.
