It's very easy to say, not so easy to do. I think it's telling that repeatedly PJ has said in pressers that, "we need to do a better job coaching them". But let me ask: how much have folks on this board donated to the GTAA? Has anyone specifically donated to the GTAA for coach's salaries (you can do that, you know)? And this isn't meant as some snarky comment ... this is just reality. Clemson's O and D coordinators combined make more than our entire staff minus PJ. We are in the bottom 3rd of the ACC in coaching salaries, and stark reality is you get what you pay for. There are some coaches who I think aren't doing as good a job as Whipping Boy on either the coaching front or recruiting front. PJ wanted to bring in a high-profile D coordinator his first year and was denied because of money. He wanted to bring in a different coordinator after Groh and was denied because of money. He wanted to bring in a name that was thrown around repeatedly on this board as his QB coach after Bohannon left. Guess what? DENIED BECAUSE OF MONEY. This isn't an excuse. I agree that some things need to change, but we also need to realize that these things cost money. That is a very stark reality.
