Haynes King fifth in “player of the year” balloting though.

No second or third teams—just a “starting” lineup.

GT, Duke, Pitt, BC, and UVA had no players on the list.

So we had no one ... above the line?

This is pretty surprising. We led the ACC is rushing, QB lead the ACC in total TD's, 4th in the league in PPG...

We're returning 9 our 11 starters from the bowl game on the offense that did this...but no first team all conference? Blatant disrespect...
Here’s the conference announcement. https://theacc.com/news/2024/8/1/fo...ward-picked-preseason-player-of-the-year.aspx

There were 170 media voters. I would think there were a lot of North Carolina-based members. Who the voters saw play probably plays a big part.

BC got no offensive linemen. Pitt got no linemen on either side. That’s what they’ve been known for. Five teams got no one recognized—Twelve did. The five overlooked teams were us, Duke, Wake, Pitt, and BC.

I look at it slightly differently. I look at it as disbelief rather than disrespect. There’s no doubt our guys had a great year offensively last season. And that was the first time in over a decade our offense was both really good and something most people like. I suspect a lot of “voters” don’t believe we can do it again (because they are stupid).

I admit in splitting hairs and maybe fixating on the terminology so I’m not at all trying to be critical of your point. I agree it’s silly that we didn’t get a single all conference member.

I agree. How does Cam Ward (who has never played a game in the ACC) become the presumptive player of the year? I understand he had good states with Washington State last year, but it seems to be a big leap to assume that he will repeat those numbers at Miami (new team, new conference, etc). Then I look at the list of players that were voted higher than King on the preseason POY. The running back from NC....ok, I might can see that; he is very talented on a good team. The linebacker from Clemson...what is the point of voting for him....I seriously doubt a linebacker (no matter how talented) is going to win POY. The QB from VPI...his stats from last year are nothing special, so I don't understand this at all....what did he do last year that was so memorable that makes a voter think he will make a big jump this year?

This interesting. From the 2023 All ACC team:
Jamal Haynes - 3rd team RB
Haynes King - HM QB
Eric Singleton- HM WR
Jordan Williams - HM OL
Joe Fusile - HM OL
Zeek Biggers - HM DT

Top 3 QB from last year are gone (Travis, Maye, Plummer). Haynes is 1st in line except for a couple of transfers. Kind of bogus.

How has Cam Ward looked against non-Pac10 defenses over his career?

And no mention of Franklin ,who may be the best at his position in conf.- I think.

The voters only picked 1st All ACC players. There are 17 Teams in the ACC. None of you guys can evaluate all 17 teams players. Most voters can't either before the season. Based on past year there is nothing to complain about. King is clearly the Best GT player and he was 5th in Player of the Year preseason voting, That is very high on the list!

Last year King was a transfer. He did really well. Plumber from Louisville was a transfer QB and was 3rd them All ACC. GT needs to win more games to get better player recognition. Our schedule will work against our players as well unless somehow we win 9 games then it would work to our advantage.
