He's done. No additional playing time possible. Had to battle a lot of adversity. Great character kid / young man. Helluva Tech Man.

Charles Perkins is pretty much what every football coach in the US would like to have 22 of. That he battled through the many injuries he has had, retrained himself, adjusted his expectations, and used his talent to the fullest is exactly what you are looking for.

And, I might add, not just football coaches are looking for this kind of persistence and effort. I predict that Charles will have a strong career in whatever field he decides to pursue. Thanks for the memories, Charles!

Perkins already has a job offer waiting for him after he finishes at Tech this year.

And notice that CPJ talked to Perkins about the possibility his case could justify a medical scholarship but unlike a Saban he left that decision up to Perkins to make. He gave the kid a chance to prove himself and build his character by overcoming great adversity. Tech does right by its student athletes unlike many factory coaches that will force a kid onto medical hardship just to free up another scholarship. Great stpory for all parties involved.
