Talking about unrealistic.
What's unrealistic (although there are many unrealistic options provided amongst the 300 options given)? If we're truly willing to pony up for the highest paid coordinator in the ACC and match UF for Buster, then there are many on that list that might not be out of reach. Some of the HCs won't be coordinators again, so that's probably unrealistic.

- Godsey has been a failed NFL OC and an NFL position coach for a while now. Does he even care for college coaching at this point, or even have interest in his Alma Mater at all?
Failed is a strong word. If that is true, then he will join a lot of legendary college football coaches who "failed" at the NFL level. And, he might not have interest in college coaching or Tech as you say.

Fired by BOB at Houston after one season as OC. Was promoted to Co-OC of the dolphins for one year before being the TE coach at Baltimore. I wouldn’t say it was a successful tenure as an NFL OC. He’s been a journeyman position coach it seems.

Don’t get me wrong, the Goose is likely my favorite GT quarterback. But just because he went here and is a coach - doesn’t mean he’s a fit or a serious candidate for our opening.

In 3 years King never slid.

The nfl qb runs i see ( but dont watch much nfl till playoffs) almost all are scramble or short yds around end and end with slide

But we are going to need run yards from Qb.
Josh Allen (Bills), Jaylen Hurts (Eagles) Lamar Jackson(Ravens) Jayden Daniels (Commanders) Justin Fields (Jets) do designed runs, some off read options. Allen has the most yards (409 in 12 games) He is also 6'5" and 240lbs! Jackson and Daniels have both missed a lot of games due to injuries this year!

Jackson is injured because his offensive line is hot trash, not because he runs.

The fact we matched and he still left for the same role says a whole f-in hell of alot.

Especially considering he and philo had a good relationship
It means that being an OC in the SEC is better than being an OC in the ACC because the level of competition is higher. It's another step up the coaching ladder for OCBF.

And as Bryce Koon said last night, it means that Georgia Tech is an attractive gig for an up and coming coach who wants his shot. Key now has that as a selling point.

Whatever. I'm not a Happy Jacket™️.

Just curious, how do we know when Tech matched he didn't go back to Sumrall/UF and say "hey, Tech matched, whatchoogonnado?" and then they came back with another several hundred thousand? For all we know Tech matched several iterations up to the point where Alpert/Key/Whoever just said "OK, we can spend that money elsewhere and they've maxed our ceiling".

each of us have our own opinion but I don't care for the Pro-style offense. I QB that can run seems to give more problems to a good college defense
There's really no such thing as a pro-style offense anymore. Every NFL offense is a mutt: it's got some option, some air raid, some west coast, a mix of power and zone, both inside and out. At pretty much every level of football, you have to have the QB be a number in the run game. They don't have to be the feature back, but they have to be able to pull it and get a few yards every once in a while. Even Matt Stafford, not exactly a mobile guy, has a career rushing success rate of ~38%.

Gus train, just like the Fritz train has left the station. We should have hired either one when we hired Collins, but their time has passed.

I’m for giving Weinke a shot to keep our players, our play calls, our checks and protections.

If we move away from that I really like Decker from ODU and the wide split offense. Kind of like busters approach, it can be tailored to a passer or a runner, and I believe we already have the personnel to run it
