"Macon Black and White - An Unutterable Separation in the American Century," was a fascinating history done a few years ago by a professor in Macon, Georgia. I got to know the author and was deeply moved by his research, which paralleled excellent scholarship that was going on across the country, into the consequences of perpetuating white privilege. I fear that we have yet to see the full cycle play out and I grieve for all the innocent lives that have been lost and which, tragically, may still be lost.
