New video board

Has anyone seen the new video board. Now we are catching up to Clemson, uga, and all with facilities. Nice big screen looks great!!!

I got an email today from Tech, saying that there is also a video board being installed on O'Keefe gym. I guess that's for basketball season.

Ken has posted an article concerning them. Here are a couple of excerpts ----

The vertically-oriented screen, 24 feet wide by 31 ½ feet high, was one of six Daktronics screens that the athletic department purchased for $1.2 million last fall. Three were assembled last spring at Russ Chandler Stadium (baseball). Mewborn Field (softball) and the Ken Byers Tennis Complex in time for those teams’ seasons.

Besides the board on Callaway Plaza, the department put up boards inside O’Keefe Gymnasium (volleyball) and the Edge Center, the department’s headquarters. The latter has brightened up a first-floor room that houses trophy and display cases through which staff and visitors pass through regularly.

I would have thought there would be one outside the dome for basketball. I don't guess they need anything else inside the dome.

They might play high lights (which would be very cool) but I seriously doubt they will play live video on them.

Be kinda fun to do away watch parties in Callaway Plaza on the big screen. If open container was allowed, I'd prob go at least to the first one.
